Then we went on our way and and wound up on Hwy 14 it was beautiful and we were all excited that we saw about 20 - 25 deer in 35 miles. We made it all the way to I 15 in Utah. Day 12 (5/15/06) Minersville, UT to Cedar City, UT Total Miles 40.7 (815.7mi to date) We had a nice early start this morning and really quite enjoyed the climb and ride into Cedar City. We were in town by 11am so we managed to beat the heat on the way in. It was just a short climb up and then a windy ride down. We were excited to have such a short ride today after that 100+mi we did yesterday. We have been on the road for a while now and have decided to take our first rest day here in Cedar City before we head out into the amazing lands of southern Utah. Driving along the interstate 15 down toward Zion National Park we saw signs for Cedar and thought that this city would obviously be the best place to spend the night. Try out a real American small town bar, get to meet some of the locals, maybe listen to some "country and western". After finding a motel we asked the receptionist were the nearest bar was. The nearest of the two only 3 blocks. 3 blocks actually turned out to be nearly a mile and a half, but we were treated to a display of local Friday night activities - getting in the pickup, driving at high speed down the central strip, playing loud music and screaming.
