I made a few trips into Austin while I was staying in San Marcos. I went in twice to the Alamo Drafthouse Movie Theatre to see a movie. Tad and Holly got me a gift card to there for Christmas. It is a theatre that serves dinner and drinks during the movie so I enjoyed the evening out. I made the drive in before rush hour and then driving back wasn't too bad by the time the movie was out. I found that Texas cities have a lot of traffic and all the drivers go at least 10 miles over the speed limit.

I made one day trip into Austin and did the Hop On Hop Off bus to see the city attractions. I got to see the famous 6th Street where the music scene is hopping most nights. I got off and toured the LBJ Library which was very interesting and very well done. I also saw the Longhorn Stadium, UT Tower, Canon Lady Statue, SOCO District, and Victorian Homes. I then went to see the Capital and the Governor's Mansion.

It is now time for me to leave San Marcos area and head to Alpine, Texas.
