Forgettable Frankfurt
Flying direct from Vancouver to Frankfurt on Lufthansa was a long, but enjoyable flight despite none of the Travelling Canucks being able to sleep; although, Mama Canuck did doze off a couple of times.
With a 10 hour stopover, we planned on sleeping a few hours while staying at the Frankfurt Airport Sheraton before our 3.5 hour Lufthansa flight to Alexandria. With constant knocks on the door by hotel staff, a phone call from housekeeping at 3:30pm asking when we were checking out, it ended up being a very expensive place to shower. Despite not being able to sleep, we were thankful for not having to hang out at the Frankfurt Airport for more than 3 hours since the airport just isn’t that pleasant and is lacking in good eateries.
After checking in 3 hours in advance of the departure time, we found our terminal at Frankfurt Airport to be almost deserted in the early evening. We appreciated just how clean, stunning and welcoming YVR is. Although YVR doesn’t yet have a sex shop or casino like Frankfurt! Needless to say, Mukluk got his little “paws” dirty again! He is just such an incorrigible bear! Unfortunately,
Lufthansa All the Way!
Flying to Frankfurt and Alexandria on Lufthansa.Papa Canuck didn’t have as much fun since he spent most of his time in the men’s room having experienced Mummy Tummy before we even landed in Egypt! Luckily, Papa had a quick recovery, which was welcome as we boarded our plane at 9:00pm. Although dinner was served, we spent most of the flight sleeping. Oh, how we missed those fully reclining seats in Business Class!
We are so excited about our trip, any little inconveniences and disappointments along the way are quickly forgotten! Long stopovers at Frankfurt Airport are certainly a forgettable experience!
